Kelly Weimer, Judge-Vintage Customs Division

Kelly received her first Breyer, a palomino FAS, in 1978 and has about 2500 models in her collection. She collect mostly Breyers, but also has a number of Hartlands, HRs, customs, and other random HSOs.

Her collectibility showing experience began in the late 1990’s. At that time, Collectibility was somewhat of an afterthought to Breed Halter classes – most shows had maybe four or five classes for collectibility. As momentum for collectibility grew, her involvement as a judge has grown. She has co-hosted the Greater Pittsburgh Model Horse Show, and Are You Kitten Me Live, and has judged several North American Nationals, BreyerWest Live, BVG Live, and BreyerFest Children and Youth shows.

Her main focus in the hobby continues to be collectibility. In 2007, she co-authored the Breyer Animal Collector’s Guide 5th Edition and is a regular contributor to the Vintage Point articles in Just About Horses. Last year, she co-hosted Archive Room segments during virtual BreyerFest, and could be found playing with test runs on the floor between camera shots.

Kelly resides in a suburb of Pittsburgh and lives with her husband Jon and two cats, Maz and Rey. Her current real horse is a Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse gelding named Rooster who she co-owns with a friend.
